Presentation guidelines
Oral presentations
- A maximum of 15 minutes, including time for questions, is allowed. This means: the length of your presentation should not exceed 13 minutes, so that at least 2 minutes are left for discussion
- Presenters (both on-site and online) are kindly asked to upload their presentation file in advance, at latest one day before the scheduled presentation time. A corresponding upload tool will be linked on the meeting website. See more details about presentation file upload further below
- Oral sessions will be organized as Zoom meetings. Corresponding links will be provided on the meeting website; to login, please click on the link for the required session. Note that both a conference registration (more details: https://www.gstm-2024.eu/registration.html) and a Zoom account are required to get access to the Zoom meetings
- If agreed to during the abstract submission process, the presentation will be recorded by the meeting organizers and the recorded video will be made available to registered participants after the session
- Online participants: When logging in to the Zoom meetings please use your full name (given name, surname) and affiliation so that you can be identified by the host and conveners; nicknames are not allowed. For online presentations, it is the preferred option that presenters share their screen during their talk; as a backup option, presentations can be controlled by the technical hosts of the meeting
- On-site participants: Presenters will not be allowed to connect their own notebooks or flash drives at the time of their talks
Poster presentations
- Poster boards are in portrait format (137.5 cm / 54.3 in. height by 97.5 cm / 38.4 in. width)
- Recommended poster size is A0 (118.9 cm x 84.1 cm)
- Supplies for mounting posters to boards will be available
- A short summary highlighting the main outcome of the presented work shall be given by each poster presenter in terms of a 2-minute oral presentation
Upload of presentation file
- The upload of the presentation file is required for both oral presentations and the short summaries of poster presentations
- Please prepare one file containing all presentation materials you aim to present
- Allowed file formats are: *.pdf, *.ppt/pptx, *.pps/ppsx, *.png, or *.mp4
- Available software installed on the technical hosts’ computer: Windows operating system, MS Office (PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player. Ensure that your file format works on such a system; if using videos inside PowerPoint files, please embed the video
- Check that the size of your presentation file does not exceed 50 MB
- Online participants are encouraged to give a live presentation, however, due to possible time zone conflicts, the upload of pre-recorded video files is also offered as an option
